Design and Implementation notes
This is another Linux implementation of the VMS ODS file system.
Why? First, when I looked for such a file system I couldn't find any on the
net. I found the ODS-2 reader, which is nice, but doesn't always do what I
wished it could do. Instead of improving the reader I thought of a file
system.
Second, after I started I found the other ODS-2 file system. Unfortunately I
had some different ideas how to handle the VMS specifics so I decided to
continue. Here we are. Make your choice. I don't mind.
How the UTF-8 support works.
How the Linux ods5 symlink support works.
Some limitations in the ods5 symlink support.
Some observations with the current symlink support on
OpenVMS/V8.3.
